 Role

 Looking to leverage our potential distribution channels and others in the financial space, FirstRain is seeking an aggressive, accomplished, enthusiastic, disciplined Account Executive that will play a crucial role in the success and growth of FirstRain’s channel sales strategy. This role will directly report to the Vice President of Business Development, with regular access and exposure to the CEO and other members of FirstRain’s Executive Team. The role will manage and maintain current client relationships in the institutional investment space and while also driving revenue growth through the channel. This individual will have defined sales goals that will be comprised of both incremental and renewal business responsibilities.

 Position Responsibilities

  • In conjunction with the VP of Business Development, this individual will work directly with channel partners to ensure the growth of FirstRain’s research engine through their respective platforms.
  • Proactively manage pipeline for FirstRain’s research engine business for institutional investors
  • Interact regularly with existing financial services clients to ensure contract renewals and expansion of FirstRain deployments through upsell opportunities
  • Prospect via phone, email, etc. to uncover new business opportunities and aggressively work with channel partners to ensure such opportunities close
  • Establish close relationships with channel partner sales and account management staff to ensure FirstRain is always top of mind
  • Become an expert user of the FirstRain research engine and understand the best use cases for institutional investors
  • Go on joint sales calls with channel partner sales and account managers to demonstrate the value of including FirstRain in the research workflow
  • Discover FirstRain opportunities at firms that may not be suited for a channel sale and work to introduce FirstRain enterprise sales staff
  • Relay periodic product enhancement feedback from customers, channel partners, and the field back to FirstRain product developers to improve FirstRain’s integration into the research workflow
  • Regular travel is expected

Required Skills / Experience:

  • Minimum of 5+ years of sales or account management experience in selling software as a service (SaaS) solutions. Financial research technology sales and channel sales experience a plus
  • Past success providing consultative sales to customers and/or channel partners
  • Track record of over-achieving quota in past position
  • Emerging technology savvy
  • Highly organized, self-starter and extremely detail oriented.
  • Thrives both in working as part of a team as well as contributing individually.
  • Prefers working within a small, fast paced, entrepreneurial environment
  • Ongoing curiosity of current issues affecting the global markets
  • CFA is a plus
