This is a 2nd Shift Position
Position Purpose:
Operate the Hitachi 4800 secondary electron microscope (SEM); collect and share SEM images for internal and external customers. Prepare samples for SEM using SELA Microcleave, polishing, and/or focused ion beam. This job requires a high level of skill and experience.
Key Tasks/Duties/Responsibilities:
· Operate the Hitachi 4800 secondary electron microscope.
· Prepare samples for SEM using SELA Microcleave, polishing, and/or focused ion beam.
· Collect and distribute SEM images for internal and external customers.
· Create and distribute reports containing TEM results.
· Consult with customers to determine proper analysis approach.
· Maintain two - day cycle time on SEM requests.
· Work as a member of a small team.

Knowledge/Skills/Training Required:
Associate or Bachelor's Degree (Chemistry, Materials Science, Metallurgy) or equivalent industry experience.
At least 2 years experience in operating a secondary electron microscope (SEM) is required.
Other Special Conditions/Requirements:
· Ability to lift 10+ pounds to height of 4 foot.
· Must be fluent in written and verbal English.
· No relocation assistance available for this position.
