Key Tasks/Duties/Responsibilities:

·         Operate the FEI Tecnai F30 transmission electron microscope. 

·         Collect TEM images and EDX/EELS data for internal and external customers. 

·         Create and distribute reports containing TEM results. 

·         Consult with customers to determine proper analysis approach.

·         Develop and apply advanced TEM capabilities to complex samples.

·         Maintain 5 day cycle time on TEM requests.

·         Cross-train on other analytical techniques.

Knowledge/Skills/Training Required:

·         PhD in Chemistry, Materials Science, Electrical or Chemical Engineering or equivalent industry experience.

·         2 to 5 years experience in operating a transmission electron microscope (TEM) to collect basic HRTEM images as well as advanced EDAX/EELS analytical data is required. 

·         Willingness to learn other analytical techniques to support lab operations.   

Other Special Conditions/Requirements:

·         Ability to lift 10+ pounds to height of 4 foot.

·         Must be fluent in written and verbal English.   

·         No travel required.

·         No relocation assistance is available for this position.
