Position Purpose:

Ensures compliance with applicable state, federal, and local environmental regulations. Establishes health and safety programs to minimize accidents and loss, with a zero incidence goal for the corporation. 

Acts as primary liaison with local, state and federal regulatory inspectors.

Manages the Site Emergency Response Team and the Security Staff.

Key Tasks/Duties/Responsibilities of this Position:

Conducts EHS evaluations of new process materials and performs the IH environmental surveys.

Investigates and resolves employee EHS issues and concerns

Conducts safety audits and prepares safety policies and procedures

Oversees building life safety systems

Manages the Site Emergency Response Team and the Security Staff.

Manages hazardous waste program and various environmental permits

Conducts safety assessments of new semiconductor processing tools

Provides guidance to management on EHS issues

Attributes Required to be Successful:

Interpersonal Skills

Must be able to work with and influence management and employees

Communication Skills

Comfortable with presentations and selling safety; Skilled at EHS training; fluent in written and verbal English

Technical Skills

Experience with safety engineering (OSHA, IFC, DOT, EPA and California equivalents), fire code and industrial hygiene techniques, managing Emergency Response teams, chemical safety evaluation and environmental permitting.

Professional Skills

Ability to accurately assess risk and employ effective countermeasures

Other Attributes

Experience evaluating risks of new materials/chemicals/gases a plus

Knowledge/Skills/Training Required:

Bachelor's degree in EHS or related field. 

3-5 years experience. 

Semiconductor EHS experience required.

Knowledge of OHSA regulations, Fire code regulations pertaining to the semiconductor industry, EPA regulations and permitting, SEMI S2/S8.

Other Special Conditions/Requirements:

Experience with Photovoltaic EHS processing a plus.
